About Me
Hi, I'm Robert
With many years of experience behind the lens, my journey in photography began in the era of monochrome film and dark room printing, later expanding into colour film and slide work. Starting with a single-lens reflex camera, occasionally exploring medium format,I developed a strong technical foundation often working with handheld light meters to achieve precision and consistency.
As photography has evolved into the digital and video age I have embraced these advancements while continuing to rely on the core techniques learned during those formative years. Despite the rapid revolution in equipment, those early skills remain invaluable and continue to shape my approach today.
My Work and Approach
As a freelance photographer, my work spans a diverse range of subjects. I am drawn to the escapism of landscape photography, as well as the energy, drama and unpredictability of sport and wildlife. However, my interests are not confined to any single genre-photography, for me, it is an ever-evolving exploration.
Much of my inspiration comes from the natural world close to home. I believe compelling images can be found in everyday places-locations that are accessible, familiar and often overlooked. It is not just about exotic destinations, but about seeing the extraordinary within the ordinary.
